Lyttelton. It’s A‍ ‍OUR

Working port.

Christchurch City Holdings Ltd (CCHL) is entertaining a proposal to privatise the operations of Lyttelton Port to Dubai-based company D.P. World, a mega-corporate with a ruthless reputation for tax-dodging, job-cutting, and getting into bed with sleazy operators. Help us keep public control of Lyttelton Port for all working people.

The Christchurch City Council and Mayor were returned to office last year by Christchurch voters on a clear public mandate that Christchurch’s public infrastructure should remain in public hands without any control, ownership, or accountability transferring into the hands of private operators. A Talbot Mills survey last year found nearly three-quarters of Christchurch residents oppose privatisation.
