Keep Our Port Public — Real Information From Real People.
Doors open at 6:30 pm for a 7:00 pm start.
New Zealanders for a Democratic Economy (NZDE), which is overseeing the community-led Keep Our Ports Public campaign with support from Canterbury Unions, recognises that public infrastructure means full public control of the Port of Lyttelton. Decisions should be made by and for the people of Christchurch, not by private interests. Your voice matters.
Spread the word. Keep DP World out of Christchurch and keep the local workers at the forefront of our public debate. Not all change is good. Make sure you pressure your Christchurch City Councillor to retain our public infrastructure in public ownership and control.
We'll have a continuing presence after the conclusion of formalities, which will allow attendees to get to know the community behind this effort. Guest speakers will include trade unions community advocates, and local politicians.
• Friday July 17th. 7pm - 9.30pm. The Loons. Community meeting. All welcome.
